I make wearable craft from discarded fabric patterns and lost buttons, the work is very much gallery orientated. My pieces are about recreating feelings and emotions that were present during the making of childhood dresses by my mother. This was very much my starting point and is most prominent in 'The Hanging Dress'. Recreating is the closest I can get to the sense of pride once felt by my mother and so it is in making that I feel I have accomplished the most. My work also centres on giving reclaimed materials a new life and purpose. I believe this gives them a sense of ambiguity as to whether they are to be worn or merely looked upon.
